Here is a list of seven mistakes that you may be doing and how to avoid them.

1. Bad diet

If you don’t drink enough water, you will get dehydrated and that will effect your skin. This doesn’t just mean drinking water, it also means minimizing the intake of drinks such as alcohol or even coffee. You can try to change your coffee habit to green tea, which is also more healthy in general. While alcohol does not have to be taboo completely, don’t overdo it.

But drinking is not the only part of your diet you should be watching. What we eat is also important. Eating fruits such as apples and cranberries or vegetables such as carrots and Brussels sprouts will be good for your skin. They will make your skin glow and protect it from free radicals. Green vegetables are considered beauty foods and can help with anti aging and general skin improvements. Walnuts can help give you a clearer skin because of the Omega-3s they have.

2. Not enough sleep

Studies have shown that sleep deprivation is the biggest mistake we can make that causes aging. If you are having trouble falling asleep or calming down after a hard day of work, try drinking tea before you go to bed. There are night cremes that you can use or even overnight masks that will help your skin regenerate after a hard day. Try getting around eight hours of sleep every night.

It is important to note that too much sleep can also be bad, so don’t overdo it. The idea that we can just sleep long during the weekend and therefor skip a few hours of sleep during weekdays couldn’t be more wrong.

3. Not taking care of your hands and neck

Hands and neck age just as much as your face does, however they are often ignored. This means they will show your age more than your face. Take care of these parts of your body as much as you take care of your face. That means they will need sunscreen or moisturizing. If they are already showing the first signs you can use a age spot mask on them.

4. Overdoing it

While cosmetic products, such as anti aging cremes, have their uses, they can also lead to the opposite if you use them too much. Some of them include ingredients that are harsh to your skin and prolonged use can do you harm instead of good. This is why you have to check the products you are using. Don’t use products that include parabens and triclosan.If you have oily skin you want to make sure that you don’t use products that over dry your skin.

5. Not using Sunscreen

UV rays can cause skin damage that will make you look older. There are sunscreens that include other skincare products. You can also use carrot seed oil, which is a natural UV blocker, in your daily routine.

6. Bad Habits

When taking care of your skin it is important to stick to your routine. Don’t fall asleep with your makeup still on because you are too tried to clean your face. Don’t just change your products all the time, hoping for a miracle to happen. Find what works for you and then stick to it. Don’t skip steps in your routine either.

7. Not enough Moisturizer

It is important that you moisturize your skin daily, even if you aren’t wearing makeup. It is vital for your skin in order to keep it healthy. Your skin is sensitive to changes in environment. Because the skin on your face sheds cells rapidly it needs moisture so it can repair itself.

These are only a few things you can do to help improve your skin and prevent it from aging too fast. The important thing is that you take care of yourself. There are plenty of skincare products that can help you, as long as you make sure not to overdo it. Changing your clothes, haircut and makeup may also help you looking younger.
